SMVTI is a joint project between the Governments of the Republic of Singapore and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. SMVTI offers vocational training for Myanmar youth to get a job in a short period of time.

MSP CAT also aims to develop vocational training for Myanmar youth at technical universities and colleges in Myanmar and cooperating with vocational training. MSP CAT and SMVTI signed the first agreement on August 2, 2016 to introduce diesel engine technology training and jointly built a diesel engine technology training room at SMVTI training school. MSP CAT provided technology to SMVTI trainers and also provided the two units of Cat C13 diesel engines for using in the training room.

On August 1, 2019, U Min Swe Oo, HR General Manager of MSP CAT and Daw Thein Thein Aye, Principal of SMVTI signed an agreement for the next 3 years to continue teaching CATERPILLAR world-class diesel engine technology to Myanmar youth.
